Gisborne Wine Company

Gisborne Wine Company is a family-owned and operated winery rooted in Tairāwhiti Gisborne, one of New Zealand’s most distinctive winegrowing regions.

Led by winemaker John Thorpe, whose winemaking career spans more than 30 years, we create wines that celebrate the character, diversity and exceptional fruit of our region.

From vibrant everyday wines to handcrafted sparkling and small-batch releases, our collections — the Longbush Native Bird Series, Reserve Chardonnay, Cosmos, and Co-Ordinates Chardonnay — each tell their own story while sharing a connection to the land, climate and winemaking heritage of Tairāwhiti.

Beyond our own collections, we offer a hands-on, handcrafted approach to contract winemaking, bottling and labelling, helping other brands bring their wines from concept to finished bottle.
